After Covid-19 hit the Irish shores and regulations were put in place to limit numbers of social gatherings, Emma and Michael had to unfortunately postpone their wedding celebration. A couple to always keep a positive light on everything they decided however that they would still like to look back on the 20th March 2020 with happy memories and not what if's. So the decision was made to go with an intimate celebration. A small gathering of 8, the priest, the couple, a small number of immediate family and of course myself at a distance met at Quin Church , Co. Clare where they had their official wedding ceremony. The original guest list were all still invited, however, technology played it's part and friends and family tuned into the parish webcam to witness the moment. After a quick bridal shoot in the near by abbey, the went back to Emma's family home for some tea and apple tart and then to their own home where they had their first dance in their sitting room with friends linked in via a group phonecall.
This was certainly not the day they had planned but it is most definetly one to remember. Emma and Michael's day has made the headlines with Emma making an appearance on The Mairead Ronan show on TodayFM (and gave us a little shout out). Link to Emma's chat with Mairead is here. They also made an appearance on The Clare Echo. Also popped up on RSVP. And a quick chat on Spin South West. Congratulations to you both and I look forward to capturing more special memories later in the year with all your family and friends.
