What happens when you decide to record some Irish Dancing at a wedding and upload it onto your facebook business page....It goes viral is what happens. While I was still on duty taking photo's for Mariam and Owen Joe's wedding, Aoife popped the second camera onto a tripod and elbowed her way into a good spot to record the dancing. Pop on by my Facebook page to have a look at the videos. Having toured with Owen Joe and danced at some stage over the last few years with most of the guests I knew this was going to be spectacular. What happened over the next week was even more spectacular. First her.ie picked up on the video which sent facebook activity on my page into overdrive. Over the next few days both irishcentral.com and weddingjournalonline.com both picked up on the story and shared it resulting in my page again erupting into a hive of activity.
The irishcentral.com acticle was shared over 1.7k times from their website and more than 1000 likes on their facebook page., while the weddinghournalonline.com article made it to a reach of 180K. It also made it to the print and broadcast media. My video/images were also featured in the Daily Record in the UK and the groom, Owen, was interviewed on the BBC by Jonathan Ross! This has been some massive PR for myself and hoping to build on this with queries coming in as a direct result of this publicity. It pays to do the little extra. Massive thanks to Owen and Mariam for being such good sports in all of the attention they are getting. Gary & Aoife :) Daily Record (Scotland)It also made it to the print and broadcast media.
