Landscape Photography Calendar 2017 - March - Ennis

This brings month brings us to Ennis, more specifically The Centurial Sphere, Ennis, located at Club Bridge, beside the 50th Anniversary Easter Rising Memorial Stone. 

It was commissioned by Clare County Council and created by Kilkee sculptor Paddy Murray and placed on a plinth provided by Pat McInerney and Noel O'Halloran of Ballykett Quarry. The Sphere is decorated with lines from poems and songs and imagery celebrating the culture of Clare.

This image was taken the first night it was lit up and took off online for me. From this the idea for my Fleadh 2016 exhibition was born, "Tradition in the Clare Landscape".
