Audrey and Eric travelled to Ireland from Colorado in the US for an intimate elopement in April 2017. It was a grey and moody day but that didn't stop their outdoor ceremony on the sea edge!
(more below) May brings us back East Clare and to Mountshannon. The gateway to Holy Island on Lough Derg. Inis Cealtra to give it its Irish name, now an uninhabited island was once one of Ireland's main monastic sites with 6 churches, a round tower and a bargaining stone, where marriage vows are still renewed.
Nowadays, you can reach Holy Island through a tour operator at Mountshannon Pier but back in olden days this was the only way over. See you next month, Gary :) |
