Happy December!
This month's calendar photo is of Ennis Abbey one snowy night in Winter 2015. As soon as it started snowing Aoife & I wrapped up and headed out to take it all in. For more photographs of snowy Ennis that night see the Facebook Album here. Will Christmas 2016 be snowy? We'll just have to wait and see... This months image comes from Sheep's Head, West Cork. One of many inlets along the Cork coast that will have a photographer spoilt, especially on a day like we had for our drive.
We did vlog the day but haven't got around to editing it! Will update this post when we do :) Here are a few more images from a wonderful day driving this section of the Wild Atlantic Way. We had the most amazing weather this weekend and with living so close to the West Coast of Ireland it would have been a shame not to go exploring.
We took off for Liscannor and parked the car up. We did the cliff walk to the visitor center at the Cliffs of Moher and back. The weather was too much for making it the 14km to Doolin (and then 14km back :)). As you can imagine there are some spectacular views on this route. With the summer coming at us and what we hope to be some dry weather I have started a new project, Limerick Lunchtime Photo Series.
The aim is to take a photo, edit and upload all within my lunch break. This won't happen every day due to weather and other commitments but when the chance arises I will go with it. To make this a little easier (i hope) I plan on taking the pictures with my Nikon D7200 and using the wifi function to download onto the phone and edit and upload from there. Looking forward to seeing what I come up with. Keep an eye on facebook , instagram and , twitter to see what I get up to. Gary :) Went for a stroll down by the Galley Head Lighthouse. Nice rugged area with amazing views of the West Cork Coastline. The Druid's Alter,Drombeg Stone Circle a place of ritual ceremony in the Bronze Age. As can be seen from the money donations and flowers it may still be common practice for people to visit the site for a spiritual experience. Can be found on the main road from Rosscarbery to Glandore and well worth a visit. Easter weekend was spent in Nice, France. Quick tip before we get to the images..wear walking shoes. We easily walked over 10k each day. On the plus side, the city is beautiful and you do not feel the walking. We had a lovely apartment not far from Place Massena down a lovely side street. Place Massena is lovely by day, but really shows it's beauty by night. The fountains come to life and the colours and reflection really add to the atmosphere.
